someone posted a msg last winter indicating that the access area at Point Anne east near LaForge gate was being "roped off" ie closed due to garbage and litter becoming a huge problem? Took a drive there the other day and no barracades up. Just a lot of large pot holes. Was it the other end west area the problem? Anyone know?

You definitly had the right access launch if you turned right at th LaFarge gate and drove down
to the launch on the pot holed road. Watch out for gators in those holes.

There is a sign on the tree on left side of road by the pot holes saying if garbage continues to be dumped in this area that it would be shut off,or something to that effect.Every time we went there we always picked up a bag of garbage to help keep it clean, one time we even loaded an old frig that some A--Hole dumped there. And people wonder why they loose launching areas.

pointe anne serves as both a boat launch and a place for rednecks to party, you can guess which of the two groups leaves all the garbage

Thanks for the replies. I wonder how long a garbage can chained to a tree would last down there? Thinking I might experiment.

Forget the garbage can unless your there every day to empty it.A garbage can is just a place for some of the fisherman to dump there fish guts into. There was a can placed there a few years back and you could hardly get near it for the smell.

good point. Guess we will have count on good people policing the area to take their junk and other garbage away each and every time. I'm going to throw in some garbage bags in the car just in case. Hope others will follow suit. Its a good launch (except for pressure ridges and some open water at times) and would be sad if it is closed.
