Cinderblockcyclops. Keeping a 15 pounder to eat is perfectly acceptable by all rules and regulations. My guess is the comment was more of a joke. Your comments to it were not.

I deleted your posts and for a very good reason. Using profanity, calling people names and attacking others is not speaking the truth. This is a public site and members of all ages read these comments. I am certain your comments would not have been appreciated the way they were said.

If you choose to speak your opinion, please do. But do it in a meaningful manner that does not offend others.

Who would have thought a simple question like "What size of walleye would you keep to eat?" would start such a heated debate? LOL

This time of the year is not the right time to be thinking of eaters.
Practice C&R , enjoying the fight and than gently releasing those beautiful eyes is rewarding.
Like Pete Bowman once said let her go to spawn once again and eat your boot ! same thing.
Fish that size not only taste like crap but are full !!! of contaminants.

Agree but drinking water, vegetables ,fruits, beef, poultry, air is full of the same. Your synthetic materials at home
work are evaporating carcinogens.
There is totally no escape from poisonous crap in this world.

So if you eat a couple walleyes a year of any size you will not increase danger living on this earth.
So catch a couple, eat a couple photograph the rest and stop worries unless you go on total walleye diet which lately
looks like mission impossible ,the way bite is going.
As far as for enjoyng fight out of walleye ?

Simple solution change regulations to no fish over 28 inches.

I think that if we all want to keep fishing the BOQ for big walleye we do need to practice catch and release especially with the big girls.

We personally fish the bay once a winter for a week and we don't keep any fish over 4 lbs. I'm not saying not to keep anything over 4 lbs just we dont as the bigger fish are the spawners. The more spawners that get put back the more fish hence better fishing.

If I decide to have a fry, which is about twice a year, I keep fish in the 2-3lb range.

1.5 -2.5 pounds for me. If I'm really desperate for a fish fry then 3-4 pounds would be my max.
