Well on Saturday the deer weren't biting at all. So we decided to hook the boat up and try our luck at that. We were on the water by noon and started trolling the long reach between green point and Huffs Rd. Marking a few fish in all depths but mainly in the 29-35' range. At all depth. Water temp was at 38.7. After trolling for an hour had a good strike on a black and silver Wally diver but lost it. Half hour later my wife says fish on. Got it to the boat and it was a nice 6lb 28" Waldo. That was it for the fish got nothing for another hour of fishing. Ministry was out asking all the boats how the fishing was at least we had one to show for it. Ministry said some guys had a few fish here and there. Even between the guys trolling and jigging. Our fish came off of the smart bait technology crankbaits that was red and orangish in colour. Hope to get back out on the water next weekend and give it another go.

If anyone is interested. The dew drop in has there minnows in stock and jigging hooks also there to purchase.

Thanks and everyone good luck trolling and stay warm

We fished Saturday and Sunday, Saturday we fished Hayward reach down to Picton up to the bat cave with nothing to show for it. Sunday we were set up by 7:30 Am heading east down the reach a half hour in to our troll just east off the ferry we got a board down and a rod bent..Finally I reply. My buddy starts bringing it in and he says there's some good weight on the rod. 20 Ft of line to go I grab the net hoping to see a nice fat eye but no its a big laker, supriesd we grab a pic and let it go. We also ran into the MNR they said they had spoken to 19 boats with only 3 walleye caught that was at 1:30 today. Talked to a few guy jigging at the mouth of hay bay said they were getting small ones. Lots of big arcs out there but nothing taking. Slowest trip I have ever had to the bay in the fall. I hope to get down once more this month but I think I'm going to wait until the water Temps drop a bit. Good luck out there folks. Stay safe.
