Guys,

Yesterday I spent a few hours icefishing in Long Reach out from Quick Short Road. Had one good one up to the edge of the hole. She's gone. Saw one good 8lber brought in by a local husband and wife team. They also lost another as I did. There were two guys from Vermont that fished from 5 in the morning til dark and caught zip.

Today I fished off Thompson point and caught a pile of perch and two very small walleyes. Release all.

The funny thing. On my way to Thompsons today(1pm) I noticed a truck and boat trailer at the Bath boat ramp. When I got to the Lennex power generation plant I could see a boat off in the distance to the South. When I came back from Thompsons point I saw three guys just loading the boat on the trailer around 5 pm. Looked like a Red Lund Pro Angler with about a 90 HP honda. These guys are serious anlgers. I hope they post all the fish they caught.

I bet they got wet coming home. The wind blew up from the south late in the day. The lake was relatively calm early. The waves were 2-3 footers at the end of the day.

Show us the pictures guys. Please. Looks like its going to warm up next week. Time for these guys to go out. Again.

Greetings , being one of those two guys from Vermont we did eventually catch some smaller fish 19'" and one 21" and my buddy you were talking to caught and nice catfish. He thought he had a cow on .The look on his face was priceless when that over grown bull head came out of the hole. We live on Lake Champlain but getting a walleye over 9-10 lbs is quite a task. Im looking for a wall hanger and I love the Quinte area.See ya in a couple of weeks. We wanted to fish the Deseronto area but we didnt bring our Jesus Boots

Hey Firefighter,

On our last trip of the season last year I saw a 10 lb Channel Cat caught
at the same location you caught yours. It was caught within a half hour
of catching a 10 lb Walleye. L.M. can you post jimbos big catfish ?

Lynn, I left my gaff in the garage.

A sure way to get a 6 lb bass on your
line in the summer. Leave the net at home.

Talk to you later,

LM,

Too early in the week to go anywhere. I could take a floater friday though.
The vacation schedule has been reset for the year.

The ice on the reach was iffy on Saturday. Where you guys walking on
water today. There was only 1/4" of black ice on the bottom of 4" total.

There was a good 6" at Thompsons point with an inch of black on bottom.

Talk to you later, I'll be watching the weather.

In years past, we have carried our cartopper into the open water under the Belleville bridge. There is quite a nice deep hole there on the south side of the bridge. It's about a 50 yard push-carry as I recall, maybe less.

Ice fisherman were visible on the ice to the west. I've never caught a thing there doing this.
