Kids Ice Fishing Derby-Bay of Quinte

On Saturday the 13th of Feb, 2016 from 10:00am to 1:00pm the Belleville Police Association is going to host a Kids Ice Fishing Derby on the Bay of Quinte, the area will be near the boat ramp on Herchimer Ave. The derby will be for kids 13 and down and will be free, the kids will get a free lunch tubesteak/hotdog. There will be free hot chocolate for the kids too. The derby will be based on having suitable weather/ice conditions.
We are going to have a roped off area for the kids to fish for safety reasons, we will also get some volunteers to drill holes for the kids and we will have loaner ice fishing rod/reel so kids can try this awesome sport, we will have free minnows for the kids as well.
The 13th of Feb, was chosen as it was part of the licence free fishing weekend in Ontario. The Belleville Fire Department will be there to demo their gear for the kids.
If the derby is not safe/or really bad weather we will announce on the radio/this website,twitter etc.., and have officers at the boat ramp.

sorry members but due to recent weather I will have to cancel the Cops kids fishing derby......safety has to come first. thanks to all those that said they would help either on the board or by PM//cel call.

Well its to bad, would of been a fun day but this winter had been somthing to remember..if by some miracle everything locks back up tight by then im still willing to help...
