Potters usually has first safe ice. Bring a spud and spud your way out. BATMAN

I would be very surprised if you had issues on potters for this weekend. As you said check as you go. Can't help for thickness as I haven't been there since last Thursday.

I would leave your atv at home.

heard first hand from a local friend who has been at Potters that the ice is only 3.5" to 4" of mixed gray ice. Its NOT making ice as fast as folks think!

Hear is first hand............fished filtration plant at bayside this morning. This has to be the worse ice in recent memory. Spud our way out to probably 1/3 of way across. There is a bad spot running up middle of bay from the looks of it. From lighthouse all the way down towards potters. Most ice I found was maybe 4 inch's, with only 1-1.5 inches of solid black ice on bottom. The rest is snow ice. Literally fishing one spot, walked maybe 15 feet away punched thru with spud on second hit. I twinkle toed my way the hell away from there. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE cannot be spoken enough. Between potters and filtration plant it looks like frazzle ice that has refroze. Would not attempt to go anywhere near that.....................saying that I saw 2 statistics fishing out from the mouth of the trent river last night. I pray to god nobody gets in there mind the river mouth is anywhere near safe or god help the search and rescue teams of Trenton. Be safe people.

was out this afternoon to check ice at petes point walked out about 200 yards and drilled through about 10" . there were also plenty of fishermen out there too ..... looked over to potters when crossing the bridge and it looked like a little community out there so there must be decent ice there too... headed out to fish tomorrow afternoon
