With the amount of people I watched following the last guy out with out checking the ice I figured I would post these.

It would be hard to remember all those steps if it actually happens but think it would help if you mentally rehearse what to do so it would become more automatic. It would benefit if there was a training course we could take to prepare us better.

Only an observation, but the worst place for people just walking out blindly onto thin ice is in Deseronto. And of course, it is probably one of the worst area for bad ice. 4 inches ice can go down to an inch in a matter of hours, not days. Always check ice thickness and remember there is safety in numbers. Don't go out alone on early or last ice. BATMAN

I agree a lot of steps to remember but if is read it will give the the general idea and give someone a chance. Better to be slightly educated than not at all. A course would be a great idea I'm sure it would get a good turn out.

I have taken this course, which includes several practicals: two and one people rescue and self rescue. Very worth while.
