Well guys as the title says I need help coming up for the 19 till the 21st and have no tackle for walleye ice fishing and have no ideas what to get before we come up any suggestions would be great if u wanna pm me that would be great aswell thanks again

Jigging raps -clown, blue and chrome, and gold all No. 7's or 9's
3/4 oz Buckshot-gold, blue, and silver
PK and PK Flutterfish, 1/2 to 1 oz Gold and Silver
Heavy 28" to 48" rod with oversize guides
15-30# braid
Swivel
Three feet of 15# mono or fluoro
Do not use a snap - I have popped several open on teen fish. I now tie direct.
Flasher or LCD with an ice fishing transducer.
Oh, yeah, never fish without at least a minnow head on your treble.
8" auger. A 6" will only handle a fish up to about 10#.
Lots of different jigging techniques work when they are biting. Experiment when thy aren't.

I personally have had better luck on smaller baits like the W5 jigging rap and the medium to small buckshots. As for your artillery I use a 28" medium action rod with 10 lbs braid and a 3-4 foot 10 lbs fluorocarbon leader to a snap swivel. In a perfect world I would rather no snap but when the fishing is slow and your trying to find out what they are wanting you could easily try 10-20 different presentations and if you do not run a snap you'll be wasting a lot of time having to tie these baits directly to your line. One last thing is if I was you I would be changing my hooks to a #4 or 6 3X strong as the ones that come on the lures are small and cheap. For the jigging raps get short shank so the hook doesn't get caught on the lure every time your ripping it.

All good points. I have fished current areas with water in the 25 foot plus range and tend to upsize because of that. Doug Stange and others recommend Eagle Claw Lazer 4x hooks to replace hooks on most lures. I know people like snaps to speed up lure change, but I would rather take the time to tie a knot. The bigger the fish, the harder the mouth, and the greater the force required to drive the hooks home. Thus, snaps have a tendency to open, light line fails, poor knots fail, and thin wire hooks bend out of the way. Nothing will break your heart like losing a huge fish for one of these reasons. One other last trick that sometimes works is if you have a fish that won't go, drop a 1/4 to 3/8 oz jig with a live minnow rigged backwards and pulse it gently right in their face.
