I'm looking to upgrade the fish finder on my 16 foot Lund rebel I had a small monochrome model that stopped working. I'm looking for a split screen GPS / fish finder in color, I was planning to buy the Dragonfly 5 with Down vision but with the exchange rate its approximately $800 some dollars to buy today. I was wondering what you folks might recommend a model in the Canadian market. I mostly fish on Balsam lake in the Kawarthas and it is a shallow lake, thanks and the bigger the better, I do have an I pilot on the boat.

Does your I-pilot have a US2 transducer built in? If so, you should look at Lowrance, Humminbird and Garmin. BATMAN

i just spent the last 2 weekends talking electronics at bass pro stateside. I am a humminbird guy and the new helix units are amazing. That being said and i dont know what bass pro Canada has on sale but Garmin has a unit they are blowing out because new stuff is on the way. it was 399 here and now 425. probably your best bang for the buck right now Garmin EchoMAP 73DV HD Fishfinder and Chartplotter with LakeVu HD Maps

I just purchased a Bird 859DI from Radioworld for $550 Maybe check out their website. I think they have some deals going on right now on some of the bigger units as well.

Raymarine pro 5 is a good choice, Humminbird helix 5, helix 7 is also good. Some new lowrance fish finders are Hook 7 or Elite Ti 7. I'm using a lowrance hook 7 so I recommend it for you. :D. Reading the review here: http://fishfinderselect.com/lowrance-ho ... ps-review/
