Dan, seems you've been kicking the can all winter. Way better 'n me.

I was at the shore ready to go in early Feb, when a guy walked in to shore and said " don't go there cause it's open water. And don't go there cause it's really thin". So I stayed on shore looking out. And that was it for me this year. Gotta wait till spring now. Bummer.

Good job buddy!!

Maple,
Send me a PM next ice season and we'll make plans. Went out this morning and it was beautiful out and so it goes without saying, the fish weren't bitin. A few jumbo perch and that's it for the 2016 ice season for me. Beauty dawn this morning walking out

Saturday we went out in the haybay area. After battling the wind, we finally got set up and caught 2 small cigar sized walleye. We also caught a few perch. That was it. Time to put the ice gear away and start thinking about soft water fishing.

My last night was Sunday and I pulled in about six jumbos (including one that was three quarters of a pound) and a one pound walter.
About 15 fish for me in total this forgettable season but I know some did much worse so I'm kind of ok with it. Limited out in 20 minutes my first night out so I really can't complain....Got a boat now so I'm looking forward to getting it set up for opening weekend.

I'm not sure it's luck of the ice. There was enough ice in staging areas this year, but no big fish(very few). They simply didn't come. Fall was terrible as well. Hopefully they just didn't come in because of strange winter, but I'm afraid fishery is in decline because of other factors nobody wants to mention here...
Let's hope I'm wrong.

Got 3 of Pete's in the middle of the day today. More than the rest of the year. Going inside for perch tomorrow.
