The open waterway near Obama's home city Chicago was far more important to keep open then to close up and keep the Asian carp the southern Americans brought in from entering the great lakes.... I doubt they will help pay for the removal of their mess

When the Great Lakes are affected, the Trent, the Kawartha's are next, the Rideau, the Ottawa River.
Sad... But in my opinion they are not doing enough to stop this!!

The "Asian" carp found in Quinte was a grass carp not the big head or silver carp that we all see videos of jumping. Not saying it's a good thing but could be worse. It was also a sterile fish that is often used by ponds in the US to keep vegetation down. As the article states, these fish are hatchery raised for this purpose and the eggs are heat treated to make the adult fish sterile and unable to reproduce. I think this situation is the best case scenario of a bad scenario.

Think I may have seen a couple of these.

Videos from perch fishing on the St. Lawrence last week. I just emailed these to the ministry for them to look at. hopefully I am wrong... the first video is a monster of a common carp I saw a couple weeks ago. The second and third I think may be Asian grass carp. I did not realize the difference until watching and posting the videos the other day.
