Laker John and I hit the big lake with rods in the water at 0900, the winds from the the NW (as per Weathernetwork) were actually SW about 25KPH. It was a tad rough.

Trolled shallow and semi-deep with no results, cept a HUGE tangle on the outer two boards, that took 25 mins to clear up.

As the wind increased, we thought it best to troll down wind with the lead cores, all sporting Shoehorn spoons.

At 1130, the inner board fires and we have a fish on!!! Unfortunately it was on for about 25 seconds and GONE - nothing to do but check the lure.

As we trolled toward shore the winds picked up and we were being pushed by three footers or slightly more.

Discretion is the better part of valour and we headed for the ramp at 1300.

This trip makes the year complete as we have fished every month of the past 12 months, trying to best our record of 27 months consecutive on soft water.

Stay Tuned

David aka Superdad
