This info will be used for our fishing trip to the Hay Bay/ Glenora Ferry area during the second week of May.
we are mostly concerned with walleye info but we enjoy whatever kind of fish that will bend the rod. I would appreciate any and all info/conditions for the Hay Bay or Glenora Ferry area. We like to fish anywhere between the launch at the Church on Rd #9 near Hay Bay and all the way over to the Ferry and out to the Cement Factory. Hope they're biting. Good luck to all!!!

My apologies. I should have stated that we are planning a fishing trip for the second week of May and wanted to see how they were. I know that walleye is closed but one can fish for another species of fish and a walleye may happen to take the bait. It was a general question and I did not intend to offend anyone. Just trying to get a feel for the conditions and more importantly when the shad are in or gone. I'd rather be prepared than blind sided. Hope this clears up my initial request.

The second week of May, meaning after May 8th, which is the Sunday of the season opening (May 7th). Therefore walleye fishing is permitted.

The fishing depends a great deal on the temperature of the water.

Remember the rule of 50 - Below 50 cranks, above 50 spinners & worms.

Another factor this year(especially) is the timing of the spawn, if it is early, the big ladies will be long gone.

I would think the usual spots, Shermans Pt, Hay Bay (Ram Is) I wouldn't think about Mallory Bay.

If you go past the ferry, four rods helps your odds and you could get a big one heading to the big Lake.

Lotsa Luck

Thanks David (Superdad). Our usual spots are indeed Ram Island, Sherman's, Baggots and Thompsons during the day and along the shore line of the Marina all the way up To the Cement factory. Hoping for some good conditions. The conditions were hit and miss last season and we are Hopi g they'll be better given a rather mild winter. Best of luck.

Mike
