I think I read it was for sale...guess it may not have been bought up.

Too bad - the slammers are my favorite drop-shot and Mark Kulik is a great guy.

It was up for sale at one point. Not sure if it was actually sold or not. Read it on FB on the XZone page and it said no longer in business.

very sad, having the slammer ripped off by another brand really didn't help....

Hi

I have been looking for Swammers but everyone is sold out.

Who has the best replica bait?

Gagnons Sports and Sail in Oshawa have them. Unless they have sold out after this announcement by XZone. I will stop by both places tomorrow and let you know.

For anyone who is interested, Sail has lots of Slammers and Swammers, and Gagnons also some of both. They also have the Shiver Shad which looks like a pretty good drop shot bait.

Hope this helps!!

I dont get why these are so popular? What's wrong with just using a live nightcrawler?

It was announced a month or two ago, but for those X Zone fans out there that haven't heard, they have been bought out by VRX Fishing and are back on the market. Back to the original hand poured product. Sounds like TackleWarehouse has them now, but should be available in stores sometime in May.

i would use caution, there has been a ton of x zone baits for sale over the winter.
new owners have said there is fakes out there. question is old stock or fakes ?
They also say the new baits will be released in may.

They are not fakes fireball...they are indeed old stock which the new owner was calling fakes at first. They were all in old XZone packaging. I read about it on their Facebook page. On the new packaging there will be a sticker saying "new hand poured" or something like that. These will be the new ones.

Easiest way to tell the difference between the injected mould pours (fake) and the real handpours is on the bottom is flat and squared edges, the fakes have a rounded side. The real hand pours are much softer and higher salt content.
I imagine the fakes are being offered in Eastern Ontario and New York areas.
Any questions about X Zone feel free to ask.
Also say x zone baits have been of market for 18 months.

That's from the wired 2 fish article. personally i have long used all my flat bottom version ones, and only have rounded bottom ones left. Fakes ? or new owner trying to say throw those in garbage and buy new ones ?

None the less, at this time they don't make my color, so i wont be buying any new ones.
