30,000 chinook salmon fry will arrive in Wellington to be delivered to the pens on Tuesday April 5th between 1 and 2 pm.

They will spend about 4 weeks in the pens where they will imprint to local waters and return back at maturity. All are welcome to come and watch or participate in the delivery. this is the 14th year of the project for CLOSA.

If you know anyone in the area that would like to participate in the feeding of the fry send me a PM.
or email me at vandusen.al@gmail.com phone - 613-399-5553

each feeding only takes about 20 mins max.

Al

Up-date.
I received a call from the hatchery staff and they expect to be at the Wellington dock with the chinook fry around 2:30 today if any one would like to help or just watch the fry going in the pens.

Al

Last year I was in Wellington and the mnr was there to release fish from the pen. When we came back in from fishing they had realeased them right at the launch there were fry by the 1000's and pike by the dozen eating them as fast as they could I could only imagine what happens to them at night fall when the walleye feed. When talking to the mnr guys they said they tried tow pen out to release but in run aground. What I don't is why they didn't use buckets and run them out. They had a great boat, 6 men and all day.

Give me a break apmikel. Did you bother to read Al's response to the last time you posted this nonsense?
