Windfinder lists two locations very close to each other

Amherst Island and Amherst Island North Shore but the wind forecasts are usually VERY different can anybody explain or comment.

My guess without looking it up is, one is exposed to the lake Ontario, on the exposed side of the island and
the other is on the inside, protected side of the island

Both markers are on Front Rd. so on the North side of the Island one across from Bath and one across from Parott Bay so very little distance between them. never found either very accurate. I should have taken that Weather Forecasting course 20% is a pass . Dark tonight light tomorrow is about as close as they seem to get. And no I cant spell meteroligist

I usually use both wind guru and weather network hourly forecast. Comparing those 2 together is usually very accurate. Windguru has sandbanks and "near Toronto" for our side of the lake.

I'm from Amherst Island and I don't understand the two windfinder markers so close together at all and quite often very different forecasts, Windfinder is very hit and miss, I look at it all the time for fishing and duck hunting but rarely trust it, nine times out of ten I stick with the good ol environment Canada call in forecast (613-545-8550) and weather network even though weather network isn't a whole lot better then windfinder most of the time. I Will have to see if windguru has a marker around the island?

WindAlert is by far the best that I have ever used. took all the other wind apps off my phone.

I find windfinder pro more accurate than windfinder. I thought the pro version was simply add free but it has different and IMO more accurate wind forecasting information.
