Not knowing what the water temp is, is the lure choice going to be spinners or crankbaits?

Bring them all use different things and see what's working. Spinners by day cranks by night. That's my opinion. Pending on sure water temps of course

This is my approach. This year, I'm going to try some slip bobber and minnow combos at night as well.

Billy Dee,

What type of stopper do you normally use on your slip bobber setup?

I wouldn't discount the CC shad.

I have some pre-wrapped string stoppers that I got at some fishing supply shop. Mine are the kind that are already on a small section of tubing to make sliding up the line easier. A bit of trouble to attach in the dark (what isn't!!) so I usually set up two rods before heading out.

What do you use?

Big thumpin paddletail swimbaits and Rippin Raps would be my first 2 choices. Trolling a harness or crankbait would be last resort for me.

Think outside the box!!!!

I have used rubber bands tied onto the line but found them to slip sometimes. I've also tied a length of line set to the depth and will tie a double uni knot and use that as the stopper for the bobber. I've always wondered where to purchase the pre tied ones and how they work.

I had never thought of using rubber bands. Even if they slip they might be an emergency go to in a pinch. Thanks for that.
