The weather is supposed to be quite warm on Thursday - something like 7C. Is there any open water? What are the conditions of the ramps? On the other thread Steve-Hamilton said the Bath ramp would be open for quite some time. Says who and how? Is this an eyewitness report? How about the ramp on the east side of the Glenora Ferry, or else Prinyer's?

If anyone wants to head out with me on Thursday or so, I'd be all about it. Contact me via PM.

Let's revive this thread in January! Woo-hoo!!

[Why the heck would you fish through the ice when you could fish from a boat?! Sheesh.]

upon checking winds, be very careful with south winds.

they blow directly into the ramp....North Winds are the most favourable for Bath....

But, its only water, and wet only lasts so long....

I had hoped to get the boat out on this gorgeous sunny warm day - Thursday, forecast high of 8C - but my dad had already winterized it, and it's sitting on blocks in the driveway with the winterizer stuff in the carbs. I see they are calling for SW winds of 25kph dimishing to 15. Perfect.

I didn't feel ready to take on the Reach in a 15-foot car-topper. Plus it's a darn long way from Oakville.

I can't help but wonder if anyone is using the Bath ramp today, and is catching anything! Arg.

The Five-Day Weather Forecast shows that warm weather is expected! There is also supposed to be a fair bit of rain which will melt ice. Temperatures are expected to be several degrees above normal for the week.

Superdad posted the photo shown below here.

I believe he made a mistake and meant to annotate the photo as January 27 and not the 21st.

At any rate, one wonders if you can launch a boat either at the Bath Ramp or else on the south side of the reach at Prinyer's? It's gonna be WARM, boys..... How about some photos or eye-witness reports of the ice conditions at these two launch ramps?

Cheers,
Pete
