Hi guys, as most marinas in the Bellville area are extremely busy with long wait times, does anyone
know a marina mechanic in the area that might help me. I have a 40 Mercury outboard that has lost
trim or tilt completely. Thank you Donn

Not sure if this is too far for you, but there is a Mercury dealer north of Cobourg that would be worth giving a call. Harris Boat Works is the name of the marina. I've dealt with them before and they are decent people. They only had my boat for a few days.

If you lift motor up, it falls down ? slowly or fast ? do you hear pump running when you hold trim button ?

Howdy Fireball. Motor would fall slowly when in up position, total fall of about 3- to 4 minutes. I drained
all hydraulic oil and put in new oil. I can hear pump, but now it will not go up at all, stuck in down
position. Thank you. Donn

After you change fluid you have to reprime it. manual lifting motor up and down often will do this.
Those screws often crack, and cause a leak. sounds like system had a leak some where.

Donn there is a guy in Shannonville works out of his house. Good guy, fair prices. 2nd left off York after you cross the river. You will see boats in his yard.

Hey guys, thank you for all the suggestions and concern. Rather than waste anymore prime fishing
time searching, I've decided to go with J.P. Marine, 5 minutes from my home in Corbyville. This way I
only lose 2 weeks of fishing waiting for repairs. Thanks everyone again. Donn
