What's been happening in the past few weeks or when you were here in May will mean nothing when you come down in August. Water temps change, vegetation changes and fish location will change. All you can do is try. There are walleye all over the Bay from Trenton to Picton and further east. If what you are doing isn't working, then try something different. Fish may move deeper with the warmer water temps, or they might be stuck in the shallow water in the weeds. Don't stay home because somebody says "the fish aren't biting"
I'm coming down next week for 4 days and will mainly be targeting bass, but I will most likely try for walleye at some point. I will definitely be hitting up shallow weeds with bucktail jigs and casting texas rigged swimbaits for walleye. If I can't find any fish shallow I may try trolling deeper water.
If I get into any walleye, I will let you know.
Don't set your expectations too high. I highly doubt you will load your boat up with 3-5 pounders everyday. The 2 pounders are better to eat anyways......
