I was wondering if anybody has fished around Lyons island this time of year? I found it on a map and was wondering if it's worth a long drive to try out.

Are you talking about the one across from the UEM Heritage Centre and Park?
If so, you'll likely find bass. In the shallows on north east side in the little bay along the reeds, more bass and pike. Also panfish.

The location is near Adolphuston Park just outside of a little bay across from Keith shoal. I am looking for smallies and obviously pickerel. I've never been down there and it's a bit of a drive for me. Thanks for the reply swiftdeer!

Yep that's the same one. If you gotta boat, try keith shoal as well. Walleye do hold up there. There is also a shoal just to the west of Lyons Islands where you might hook into some eyes. On the inside of the island, facing the beach there is a small cove, good population of smallies. Toss the pads and the two docks and the willows there.

We fished the cove on the north lyons Island and 20 - 40 feet of water toward the ferry Saturday afternoon. No luck for us. Others had some luck nearby but we were fishing alone. Fished Mallory bay Friday night, a bass and a crappie to show for it, no eyes.
