I plan to heading the quinte bay on the weekend of 10-11 february and have an 8 hours drive to reach the bay and want to make sure that i have a couple spot to fish. The two last years I have fish the Belleville région but I heard on the forum that this area was on open water. I see that guys at big Island can fish and how far from shore tey is fishing and wher they enter the bay. After that I heard a lot about Herchimer and petes point and want to know the same information the distance from shore. Can I have to bring my ATV or snowmobile.

. I fished big bay on monday jan 30th............... ice was soft 4 inches with 2 inches black under ............ they are being happered with rain so its anyones guess as to what the ice will be like in 5 days,,,,,,,,,,, it was very limited at best as it was to begin with. id say leave the bikes, and sleds at home........ doubt you will be able to use them........ i did well about 400 yards off shore but that means nothing cause the fish just move around so be ready to dirll and surch, drill, and surch! . good luck

Long reach is Wiiiide open! Wind is up as I speak and if it keeps up will be open water right across at the Shermans point end of the reach this time tomorrow.

Anybody going out on the remaing ice has got to have a death wish!!
