Low winds and wife out of town got me out on the water last night. Started trolling Eastward a little after 6pm on the South side of Salmon Island. Quickly got a nice smallmouth about 3lbs. Kept going east across the channel then turned southwest to troll the Eastern side of Melville Shoal. Nothing on the pass south, but on the second pass going NE I hit a 24 inch walleye in 14ft of water. Took a small pink x-rap trolled 2.2 mph, same lure the smallie took. Was 9:00 at that point, so kept trolling NE. Cut across the channel again and one last pass to the East of Salmon Island. Picked up a small, maybe 16 inch, walleye on a reef runner coming up onto the shallowest point there. Reeled up the lines and headed in. There was one other boat out there, I think I saw their net go in the water as I passed them, but its hard to be sure in the dark.
