I went to Quinte today to check out the area. I launched at Finckles (?) park south of Napanee and toured into Picton Harbour and then out to Lands End through Adolphous Reach. I couldn't find this 'bat cave' anywhere. Where is it located? I marked loads of hooks all throughout the are but had no takers. Tried trolling stick baits and bottom bouncers and even stopped to jig in 60 fow. Nice area. Next time out I will bring the Big Boat and wait till late November!

Further up the reach you'll see the Bat Cave, you can't miss it...

I passed that structure!!! I thought it was a viewing deck!! I was expecting a big round hole in the side of a cliff with tire tracks going in and out!!! Thanks for posting the pic.

Finkles Park & Ramp is just outside of Bath.

Good launch ramp even with the low water.

That was quite a boat ride, got to be twelve miles from Finkles to the ferry.

All information is gratefully appreciated.

Stay Tuned

Maybe we should be calling it the beaver cave instead. My cottage is a short Kayak paddle west of there and I don't think that structure has been used in a number of years. Two weekends ago I paddled into and there is a family of beavers that have made a lodge in the back corner and an old osprey nest up aling the underside of the structure.

Yes Superdad it was quite a long way in a small tin 14 footer. I like to check out new areas with the 'bashable' boat before I bring out the Whaler too be sure I don't find any rocks with the fiberglass hull. Next time I'm bringing the big boat and giving it another try. Very surprised at the depth of the water through Adolphous Reach. I always figured the area was all shallow water!
