Quinte Fishing

As I was flying between Montreal and Toronto this week, I was impressed with just how many lakes there are just north of the St-Lawrence. I have always wondered what the fishing was like in some of these lakes. Some look like pretty large bodies of water but most are small. I looked them up on Google maps: Newboro Lake, Big Rideau, Lake, Charleston Lake, Round Lake, Kendricks Bay... Has anyone fished these waters? What species are caught? Are there any good outfitter camps? Any really good, not so popular spots for walleye or trout? Maybe I'd like to try one of these out next summer.

Lots of great fishing in that area, that is where I fish most of the time. Several lakes you mentioned are in the Rideau system so can be quite busy. Great bass fishing in the summer and fall (smallies and largies). Several lakes can have decent to good lake trout fishing (Big Rideau, Charleston). Walleye are common as well but sometimes harder to find consistently. It is a very popular area, so not too many "not so popular spots for walleye or trout". Most of the lakes have a lodge or 2, I have not stayed at any. The other option, if you are bringing a boat would be to stay at a motel or cottage somewhere and then you could trailer your boat and check out several different lakes.

Yep, lots of good lakes there. I fish Charleston a lot. There are some lodges on the lake, the only one that I can think of off the top of my head is lake line. Lots of bass and lakers in there. Back lake walleye is a little harder and I don't bother on the back lakes. Way easier to hit big water like the river, lake o or Quinte.
