If anyone is interested. I have a connection for having the 1lb propane tanks filled. You have to supply the tanks. The cost is $3 dollars per tank taxes in.

If you go the 5lb tank route and you have a little buddy heater, you must ues a hose, with that hose you need a Mr Heater gas filter avail at princes auto, the heater is not guarenteed unless you use the proper hose and filter.I am not sure what i paid for mine I think around $40.

Costco will take the 20lbs for free. My dump will take the 1lbs with a hole . I shoot em with the. 22.
As for filling the 1 lbs. It's easy. The adapter does come with instructions ( mine did anyway). By far the cheapest option. I also have a 5 lb tank. Great it your not walking to far... Expensive too..

Bought a new filter yesterday, old one had a rattle in it so i figured it was done. $15 for the filter.

Those filters are cheaper at Home hardware, I think they are $15.99 at princeess and $11.99 at HH. You may have to order it in ( like I did ) , but it only takes a couple of days.

Thanks for that ill remember that for next time. Anyone know how long these are suppose to last. i think its a year. i replaced mine after 2 but only used it a dozen times over that time, replace after the rattling inside started.

This thread got me thinking about my own stock pile of partially emptied 1 pound tanks. So with a bit of googling and YouTube'ing I decided to buy the 1 pound refill adaptor (amazon $25) Glad I didn't waste any more money this year! I already filled up 4 tanks I had sitting around. So for a $35 investment ( I bought a digital kitchen scale at can. Tire for $10). It's already paid over half back. I didn't chill bottles I went with the pressure relief valve method. as long as you're weighing the tanks there shouldn't be any problems. I didn't want to buy the 5lb tank and adaptor hose, or carry them out on the ice. It's nice being able to top up tanks instead of bringing a few partials out.
