Quinte Fishing

It's driving me nuts watching little streaks on my sonar. Only to get little tiny bites over and over again each night. I thought if I got an underwater viewer at least I could watch the little buggers swim around.
Any thoughts ?

PS. 7" ice at potters tonight. Very slick. Like a freashly cleaned hockey rink. Make sure you have grippers on your boots.

I have the aqua view 715c series. It was a surprise gift last year, so I never planned to own one. It has a 50' cable, and the screen is large. The image is clear as day, and an amazing way to fish for perch. You'll be surprised at everything that is lurking down there. Only downside, is fish and line getting tangled around the cord. I've only used it a few times on Simcoe, but never for walleye.

Use an aqua vue as well. Watched a pair of 9lbs walleye fight over my spoon
Two years ago, caught both one after the other. Very entertaining if nothing else. Sometimes drives you crazy, because you can see fish but can't catch the little buggars. Always drill a second hole, and you won't tangle.

I'm using the Marcum Recon 5 plus this season and used it for the first time at Potters New Years eve. It's a great unit if your looking for a compact light weight unit. I agree drill a second hole. This unit has variable camera angles available via a clip on the head but I prefer pointing the camera straight down by unclipping and lifting it 5-6 ft off bottom this way you don't need to rotate to find your bait.
