Mazinaw lake lakers

Want to head up to Mazinaw lake next week or the one after and try for some decent size lakers. Have seen some pics posted in other forums of some beauties through the ice but have never fished the lake. Anyone got any knowledge of Mazinaw in the winter that can give help where to go and what sort of water to get them in?

You're right fishnsledder just checked the regs. Thought it was all year but it's every other trout, lakers are soft water only. Thanks for the heads up! Guess I'll head up minden way instead. My old stomping grounds so I know the lakes, was hoping for something new. Oh well

Not sure how this guy pulled it off when it's closed in winter however...?? But I'm jealous...

Maybe he was fishing "Whitefish"...Hahahah.... Anyways, when Loughborough lake freezes up try there, it's fun most days, tons of fish!

Lots of idiots posting pictures/videos of their illegal activity online: vandalism, assault, B&E etc etc why not fishing too! I bet the CO's get a good laugh when things like this come across their computer screens.

The lake is not closed in the winter just trout is . the lake is open for walleye fishing until end of feb
