Sinker doesn't have a clue what he's talking about! This a thread on long reach ice and he's saying "lots of guys out there". BS!! There's nobody on the ice at huffs cause there's 2 monster pressure cracks that opened up. We went by there yesterday and could see open water.

I'm sorry you can't read. If I knew what conditions were like I would have told him.

I never mentioned long reach anywhere. I just pointed out the fact that there were a lot of guys on the ice that day, all over the bay, and nobody was saying anything. This site is a waste of time for the most part. No point even asking about ice conditions here, because you won't get a response. And to top it off, get blasted by a tool who can't even read. What a joke.

Sinker, this is a great site with great people. You really can't expect reliable ice reports right now. Spots are limited and people don't want to blow their spot up. In addition,. Many anglers don't want to be the guy that says " there are 5 inches of good ice" and then hear about Sinker falling through because he trusted someone's report. Be patient ,. Make some friends that you can share info with. Overall your approach just isn't productive for you finding good info.

I've been here long enough to know there are a hand full of good people here, but most are tight lipped and don't share anything. I'm just telling it like it is, and people don't like it. So be it.

P.S it won't be me going through the ice!

No, you just ambiguously posted in a thread 'LONG REACH ICE' that there were tons of guys out.
I'm sorry your writing comprehension and function wouldn't lead you to specify where you saw all these anglers fishing and at least make mention that it wasn't Long Reach where you saw them. Maybe waste your time some where else?

Cool thanks, might head out to the reach tomorrow

case in point. This guy was on his way to long reach because you said there were "Lots of guys on the ice" in at thread titled LONG REACH ICE!
Can you possibly comprehend why some board regulars might be a little miffed with your post?

First off, don't talk to me like im an idiot. I am not. If you have a personal issue with me, lets talk face to face. Heck, you may even like me. I never implied there were guys on long reach. You guys ASSUMED. I had no intention of sending anyone there at all, and I would never post any kind of BS like that ever. I am on many, many fishing sites, and have the same handle everywhere I go. I have met many, many, many guys and gals, and NEVER sent anyone astray. Taken many of them with me on the ice and in my boat....some of them into my home.

My point was that this site for whatever reason, is very tight lipped. Nobody shares any info, and it always turns into a pissing match. If you go back and search my threads that I have posted here, you will see its the same thing every year. A bunch of asses.....so yes, it is a waste of time coming here and asking.

I had earlier posted a thread asking about big bay with not even one response or pm on conditions. I put the miles on and went for myself and found almost 20 guys out there, and more in the distance. NOT ONE OF them replied. There were guys on the ice in Trenton and Belleville too.....all I heard were crickets. I mentioned in THIS thread that there were lots of people on the BAY, why isn't anyone speaking up, and YOU turned that into there were lots of guys on long reach. Dont assume.....don't put words in my mouth, and don't assume I'm an idiot with no clue, because that just pisses me off.

Anyways, I'm done with this thread. Have a great day. Good luck on the hardwater.

S.

Sinker u posted in a thread called "long reach ice". That there is lots of people on the ice! Done that's all u said in this thread! If u don't understand how that can be interpreted as there's lots of guys fishing on long reach I don't know how else to explain it to you.

A guy asked any updates on Long reach ice??? You replied. "Lots of guys on the ice today"

Here’s my 2 cents: Years ago when I first used the board I posted the ice conditions during early ice. The next day I had easily 30 people on the ice right where I said I was fishing. This is probable one of the main reasons nobody posts early conditions because they want to fish without the added pressure of another 30 anglers. Selfish yes but that’s just human nature. Another thing is if I tell you the ice is good and you go through and god forbid something bad happens , am I liable legally ? Not to mention how I would feel if something did happen.
If you want to know if the ice is good do like I do and drive the hour and check it out, as well I have a network of good friends that share their experiences if asked on other forms of media. This board has tons of info but first ice is something that a little different as people have their own reasons for not sharing. That being said if you post a condition most people are going to take it as gospel and load their gear and head out. Locals will know when and where it is safe to go and if you get along with them they might share with you as well. Like it has been mentioned though the heading did say Long Reach Ice and I myself would think it was ok to fish after reading your statement but knowing the area like I do, I know it and the Skyway bridge are usually the last places to freeze up. Just my thoughts.
Tim

I myself live in Brampton and thats a bit to far to go check ice in the Bay. About 2 maybe 3 weeks ago on 1 of these posts I asked for some help by means of a PM.I am still waiting for at least 1 PM.I total understand where you're coming from Tim but not 1 person could PM me on anything ? I agree with Sinker on tight lip, waste of time and no help or info. just my 5 cents...

How about going to the Battle of The Bay, make some friends. Get to know some people.Build a network of fishing buddies that you can rely on. Help with a good cause.

I come from out of town and I know it seems very un-brotherly that you don't get ice conditions BUT even if the internet says its safe doesn't mean you can let your guard down. I've gone back years past and you can tell what areas generally have safe ice first or have the least amount of current which can deteriorate ice quickly. I do have some Buddy's that are close to the bay and they will tell me but you will always see a spud and my float suit on and checking every few feet not taking any chances. I know it sucks to drive all that way and have to turn back but it beats driving all the way there and not be able to drive back at all. All ice on quinte is stretchy, that's his I treat it all the time

Well said Tim!
I'm an out of towner myself. I start following the weather forecast for the Napanee area almost daily at the start of December. I also start snooping the board for clues of ice when I've seen consecutive -10 days or night with low wind. I've reached out several times through PMs prior to heading up & sometimes they get answered (thank you) sometimes not. I'm not offended by memebers that don't reply after all it's not an obligation. It takes me roughly 1.5hrs to get there & I always book a room as I usually fish a couple of days. If I arrive at a spot & nobody out there I'm not leaving the truck. If there's a few folks then I'll spud out. I fish with a group & we're all the same minded. Folks can do a lot of their own homework. My biggest suggestion to out of Townes like myself is have a back up spot to fish that you know is safe on the way home, some fishing is better than none in my books.
In closing I'm hoping to head up to Shermans or Perfect Vu or the Church this weekend it my pan out it may not...if anybody wants to to PM me the conditions or thoughts on them areas please feel free.
If your going to fish BOQ this is the board to follow!
