...can't believe I had not found this board before after doing all the research I have been doing! Glad to be here now.
I was out for the first time on the bay to check things out on the 2nd. Managed to find a spot to get on with comfortable ice thickness - I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to ice - 6" to 7" of good ice!
Anyway, managed a few big perch for dinner and my very first quinte walleye...except it was only about 8 inches long! oh well, will sure be back when ice gets better.

Fished anywhere from 14 to 19 feet of water in big bay. Can't say I marked any big walleye.

Thanks and take care,
Neto

Glad to hear you got out and caught a few! I'm new to the forum as well. I'll be making my first trip to BOQ next weekend, jan 13-15. hoping the ice holds up

Cool...I will be concentrating my efforts on quinte this year. Ice might set back up for you for the weekend.. Might try to make it out for an afternoon if all stars line up for me at home.

Fished 17-19 FOW...not sure how far out that was to be honest. According to navionics on my phone it was about a Km to the furthers point. There was good ice on the 2nd of Jan tho. Who knows now. There was also a big pressure crack that was making all kinds of noise while it shifted throughout the day.
