How can she be bored, she's got a basement to finish when she gets back from Newfy....
Just use an old backpack and run the rope through it, works great and you can carry mine and Comets stuff for us too....lol

Well I finished the sled. It does not break down but that's okay it will be brought around in a truck. I --used 2x6 risers
Skis are 21" apart do to the width of the box I used
I bolted the box down so I can change it out if I choose a different configuration. I think I'll bolt on a piece of plywood for deer season. It's diffently bigger than other sleds out there but I'll drag it around once we have some snow. I may remove the lid still and maybe have a canvas top.
Any constructive criticism? Can still make some changes, work in progress

Is that a wood box? may want to think of using some sort of plastic box or a pelican sled on top instead, what you have there sure looks heavy before you get any gear in or a bucket full of fish adding to the weight on your way back in.

It is. I had trouble finding a large tote with a flat top. All the big ones had a rounded top which I don't want or they were really tall. I am concerned about the weight though you are right. I used bolts to secure it until I find a suitable plastic tote. I'm also planning on throwing a two man suitcase type shelter on top 8O Thanks for the reply

Well decided to keep things simple, that's the point if this sled right. So I now put my shelter on top of risers and bungi a tote over top. Had it out at potters last night and worked terrific. Fished three hours no bites, lots of ice where I was

The lake was pretty sloppy today so I used my sled for the first time, wow. Pulls super easy.

A few years back, my wife grabbed some pairs of skis from the dump. Course, I got onto her about bringing crap home.

She told me not to worry she had a use for them. I had no idea she picked them up for me to build a sled. Good woman.

Anyway, I pull a lot of stuff and the sled makes a huge difference. Anyone who's not sure it's worth it, it is.

Have a good fish.
