This was yesterday afternoon in big bay. That open water is about 8' wide and twice as long. You can see a number of similar holes all the way along the crack. With this cold it's going to ice over . Fyi

the weather is looking good! did you notice any open water in the distance? (besides the pressure crack)

There are some man eater and ATV eater holes out there. I spudded my way out with a buddy this am on West Lake and set up on about 5 inches (he drilled on a white piece of ice and only found 3). We hadn't noticed it but he looked over towards the east when a breeze came up and saw a pressure crack about 80 yards long and got as wide as 7 or 8 yards wide about 50 yards from where we were fishing. With no wind, it looked like simple flat, black ice. Be careful and keep your eyes open.

thanks for posting dan thats danger,could save someones life with a inch or two of snow would be brutal.
