Hay Bay Larry & I were able to escape from the Xmas prepartions for one last kick at the can for 2002.

We got around 1400 hrs, launching at the Adolphustown Ferry launch ramp. There were four other rigs alreay there.

Met a Starcraft who had just landed their first just after we launched. We decided to try the big waters in front of the cement plant. We were marking a great many fish..... were they walleyes?

We trolled for two and half hours around the marker buoy and over by the ice guarding Picton Bay with no success, tried all the lures - Plus 20's, Spoonbills, Smithwicks in varying colours.

The weather was changing as the it got darker, the rain changed into flurries and into a snow-storm. Took the boat out and made it up the ramp, kinda impeding the progress of a second boat trying to make the next Glenora ferry run.

Nice to have said hello to fellow board listers.

The boats are now put away and we will bid 2002 adieu from the shore. The weather could cooperate and the fishing could continue, BUT, we will wait til 2003.

2002 has been a good year for Quinte fishing, not withstanding the MNR whose Doom & Gloom are well remembered from last Fall. I think more people caught more fish this past year than in the past 10 years.

We all hope that size limitations will help the numbers of walleye continue to rise.

Until the ice is really safe and we can get out safely for an attempt to catch a fish thru the ice I'll say Tight Lines to all.
