Hey Anglers. I actually was interested in an update on ice conditions
For Sherman's . Pincksalmon an I have a trip booked for feb 3rd and we're looking for answers until "Jeff" made a mess of our last post. We just live to far to check.

Information would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Stay home, or go to a northern lake. There is no safe ice in the Reach or Shermans or probably anywhere else on the Bay of Quinte. Guys are going out, but they are local and know the areas they are fishing.

Hey, thanks for that Spyman, real useful information :)
We do an annual trip to quinte every winter and our cottage is booked with no refund policy at this point. We're committed to this trip and just wanted some info but I see that it's like pulling teeth to get an honest straight answer. We were at Sherman's a week and a half ago and there was 6 inches of ice, we just wanted to know if any is left to build with the cold snap coming.
I'll just stick to weather reports and satellite imaging.

Oh, and spyman, why even bother wasting your time posting? Your post was as useless as a screen door in a submarine pal.... sheesh

the jeff story cracks me up lol
looks like some good weather on the way. i was last up there jan 13-15 right after that nice cold front came in. i was on huffs and there was only 4 inches. so if we get the weather they are calling for, i would assume you could at least find decent ice near shermans, big bay, potters/trenton area. i dont know the reach but you never know....i talked to a local last time i was there as i was coming off huffs and he told me that 2 days ago (january 12th) it was open water haha....it was absolutely frigid the 2 nights before we went out those nights i think. anyway, youll be going up no matter what and you will find ice somewhere once you are there (thats what my group of guys did) so stay safe and have a great time!! best of luck and post pics! ill hopefully be back up that way feb 17 or 24th

Thanks Diehard. Great information! I'll send pics if I do well enough.
I hope Jeff is reading these posts. They are much more informative.

For crying in the mud lotsawalleye, enough already. Nobody is naive enough to think huffs would have even close to that much ice. In fact every report has indicated open water.

Thanks for trolling, no pun intended

Ya um. I was posting to tell you that the ice isn't safe at Shermans.. Isn't that what you wanted to know? Some people.....If you want to fish at Shemans bring a boat. I've lived in this area for 44 years and I'm not fishing because of unsafe conditions, but hey, what do i know. And your right, why should I bother wasting my time posting and helping people like you out.
Your welcome.

Hey no problem Spyman. Thanks for the info.
Hopefully this cold front coming in will get us all fishing again.
I think that Pincksalmon is a little wet behind the ears of you know what I'm saying.
As for Jeff. I think he's got his headlamp strapped on to tight!

Good Luck!

Jeff sent me a text today saying he's fishing at Sherman's right now, auger, hut, and all. I don't know what you guys are talking about.
