Just received the tentative dates for stocking browns in Athol Bay.
Thursday March 23rd and Thursday March 30th. As always we are looking for a few good anglers to help with the stocking. The tank truck usually arrives from Chatsworth Fish Culture Station between 2:30 and 3:30 pm. Our stocking allotment for the area is approximately 42,000 every spring.
If you would like to help, PM me. Rubber boots are an asset.
If the dates change I will post on this thread. I will up-date if times change.
I was impressed last spring with the size of the browns that the OMNRF stocked.

Al

The Monday March 27th stocking date has been changed to Thursday March 30th.
Thursday March 23rd will remain a stocking date.
They will even be bigger.

I was at the stocking site yesterday. Still some ice and snow along the shore line. I will take a shovel and ice spud. Hatchery coordinator said Glenn will be there with the truck around 2 pm. I have never seen them that early but I will be there around 1:30.

Went great, no birds in the area.
Truck didn't arrive until 3:30.
Another 20,00 on the 30th.

The remainder of the 40,000 brown trout to be stocked into Athol Bay will arrive today.
Approx. around 3:30.

I was impressed with the size last week. Average weight was around 51 grams.

No rain today.

Sorry we had to pull the pin at 1600 hrs.

Maybe we should the technology available and swap cell nos to keep everyone up to speed with the timing of the arrival of the truck.
