Talking to the fishers who were out on Saturday, everybody is catching fish in Hay Bay, lots of small ones but some people said they are getting bigger.

The popular colour is Pink...... I've got a bunch of those to try next week.

I fished saturday and lost count of fish. Started just west of shermans boat launch and and worked west to the red buoy at shermans then turned and headed south and right into thompsons cove before turning and working east. Caught fish everywhere but definitely had better fish when working towards thompsons. Water temp was 64.5 and our trolling speed was 1.7-2.1 Hot harness color was chartreuse with a splash of orange and our bait was no deeper than 7 feet. Fished with and without inline boards and really didn't need them. Partner landed a 8 lb drum that just about spooled him. I saw repeated schools of shad on my screen and am curious to see how the fishing changes if at all. On a typical year the shad balls meant the bite came to a screeching halt for a few weeks before picking back up but with the numbers of fish in the system who knows?
