As a first timer to visit the area, my wife and I would like to find a place to stay for 1-2 days and hopefully have some success with a bit of walleye. I have my own boat so any launch suggestions as well. Just a 16' aluminum with a 40.

Can anyone recommend a few places that are clean and quiet. I don't expect anyone's secret fishing spots, but certainly appreciate any insight. PM's welcome if preferred. Also any good restaurants with good food & cold beer.

Thanks for any info / recommendations.

I can't help you out with any fishing tips cause I haven't been out there this year, but it sounds like it's been pretty good everywhere. I would look for a hotel in Napanee. It's 15-20 minutes from launches in Hay Bay or Deseronto. Also there are restaurants and bars close by. Belleville would also be an option for launches and restaurants close by.

Belleville: Boathouse, Chucks Road House, Shoeless Joes and the one on Meyers pier are all good restaurants. Chucks is a personal fav as it has $5 32oz steins which are always good.

Fishing spots near Belleville, anywhere in or near the mouth of the trent river is good and around Meyers pier at night is a hotspot. The Belleville river is currently full of garpike and carp if youre into that.

Napanee: The Loaf and Ale pup is awesome and they have all the usual sports bar restaurants as well.

Fishing Napanee best bet is to head out from deseronto and look for other boaters good luck!

if you are fishing the napanee deseronto area youre best to use the deseronto dock as napanee is still under water..there is a good selection of motels to stay at along hwy 2 in napanee thats about 10 minutes to the deseronto launch.. twin peaks i think even has a fish cleaning station with nice little cabins out back with lots of parking..lots of spots close to there to fish with a regular good bite...good luck...tom

Call the Picton harbor Inn , right in Picton, Launch down the street, docking at the Inn , the best breakfast around and some ok restaurant's around the corner.
Click on the link at the top of the page and it will tell you all about them. Fishing is good out of the harbor as well, thompsons point, shermans point and hay bay. Good luck and let us know how you did. We use bottom bouncers and worm harnesses trolling slow speeds. 1 mph.

I would suggest Baycrest Lodge & Marina on Big Island , They have cottages shore front and & working Marina plus a boat launch, They also have gas in the Marina. We just spent the last week there and the fishing was fantastic--------

Whenever I fish the Bay I stay at County Shores campground - they have units that they rent and will even launch your boat for you - nice a quiet place to stay - I know that you would enjoy it there

Well ended up staying at Merland Park. Really nice place and the owner Kevin was great! Floating docs and a nice fish house was perfect. We caught a ton of fish and limited out both days. Largest fish was a 3.5 lber and a few 2.5's Worm harness with bottom bouncers as suggested. We are sure to return and plan to stay at Merland again.

Thanks again for the many suggestions.
