I have been involved with CLOSA for 32 years. The first year we tried to have summer meetings and the attendance was poor do to the fact that guys would hit the Lake after work. We now have new younger members and the future of CLOSA looks fantastic. We will endeavor to try summer meetings again with the first this Wednesday evening at 7 pm.
I have been asked to do a presentation on trolling flies. My experience has been that trolling flies have the highest percentage of hookups of any presentation on the Lake. There is no piece of metal, no piece of plastic or rubber or no meat getting in the way of burying the hooks in the kings jaw. Many a day, I have had a hundred % hook ups on flies. No knock offs and no screamers that drop the bait. 100 %.
Back in the day I started with Howie flies, then Purple Taco, Siggs and many others until I was finally introduced to A-TOM-MIK by a friend. Tom Allen produces a super product in my opinion. The best around the great lakes. He has a good group of pro-staffers that he gets a ton of feed back from.
In the presentation, I will discuss colors that work on this side of the lake and specifically in our area.
When too use the Shredded series or Live series. I will show you how to snell your on rigs if you want to save some money and just buy fly bodies.
Other topics will include lead length versus speed. Proper lead length during the season and how it changes from month to month. Single treble vs tournament series double hook set up and how the difference in weight affects the presentation.
Another topic that I will briefly discuss is how the technology of the 3 fly (Twinkie) rig has changed over the years and when and where to use it. I will answer any and all questions.

Hope to see you there.
