Picked up a Helix 7 at Bass Pro in Vaughan. Great price. What I didn't realize is that it's not the International version so there's no metric on it.

Because Bass Pro is American they don't offer the metric version. I didn't know that. The International version has an "X" after the number 7 on the bar code label.

Called Bass Pro in Vaughan and even though the box was opened they offered to take it back and pay my postage. Can't beat that.

My son in law took it back today and picked up the international one from Radioworld.

great service

on my Helix I always have it on fahrenheit, mph...although I do use KMs for the distance scale. What was it you preferred metric for?

Trolling speed and estimating distance. I always used that metric scale at work and home so it's easier for me. Driving is in metric so I hop in the boat and it's the same. I do my depth in feet and temp in fahrenheit because I never converted to that.

Probably seems weird but it works for me.

I tie my own worm harnesses, which is cheap and super easy. I really enjoy it and I have some that are killer. When the fish are biting slow, I know the minimum speed that makes my spinners turn and that happens to be in kph.

My Powerdrive has cruise control, so once I hit the speed I want on my finder, I set the cruise and just steer and reel in fish(I wish).

My wife always has something out of the freezer, although this year has been great.

Anyway, I have it sorted out so I'm good to go.

Take care.
