Doesn't look like the police did much of a search of the lake.

No donut shop on the island. They were ticked off that I was wasting their time when I insisted one of them come to my house to look at some of the evidence left by the atv thieves.

I personally don't appreciate the comments about the lack of enthusiasm of the OPP investigators. The Tri Lakes consist of a lot of hidden shoreline. I believe a number of OPP boats and crews were being deployed over the last two and a half weeks on Sturgeon Lake looking for two bodies of a canoeing mishap. With the limited number of officers in the area to patrol the roads as well as the waterways, I believe they were doing as much as they possibly could.
Perhaps a raise in our taxes might be needed......Lets see the comments about that idea. :(

One of the most under appreciated jobs that a lot of people find fault with until they are needed, so you will find me in agreement with you Tom. Just leave my frigg'n taxes alone.

I'll stand by my comment and if we have police that can only deal with one incident at a time we've got big trouble. Buckhorn lake is not that big with only a few islands.

I know the police and others searched not only Buckhorn, but a large portion of the rest of the tri lakes.
I suspect when they received a credible report of a boat matching that description leaving the area on a trailer later that morning, their geographic search area broadened.
I will stand by my comments, resources are stretched thin in this province and life threatening situations, accidents, and other problems needing an immediate police presence will always put a theft crime, with no life threatening scenario, at the bottom of the priority chain.
If we want this to change, it is going to cost us more.
