Went here yesterday afternoon during the heavy snowfall. It is official smitty sled season after pulling my hut out and back through all that snow. I only drilled one hole and the ice was 6" . Marked a few fish and got one 5 lber on 3/4 oz buckshot tipped with one minnow.

Any ATVs out? I was thinking of bringing mine out in a few days. Would it do alright in that snow?

I also fished potters yesterday morning. Solid 6" of ice and there was two four wheelers out as well. Fished bayside in the afternoon solid 3.5-4" where we were.

There were a lot of beaten paths so it wasn't bad there were some spots with some pretty deep drifts. And one area where Quinte Hut Rentals plowed a trail to his but so if you follow them as much as you can it's not bad. Once you leave the paths it's pretty deep probably close to a good or more in spots

I took my quad out today. I went with my daughter so we got a late start. It was about 9ish by the time we got set up. I realized I forgot a light for the tank top heater and my little buddy heater wasnt cutting it. After trying (and failing) to lite the tank top heater with the little buddy heater, I called my wife and asked her to drop a lighter off at shore. It would have been no problem to make a quick run back on the quad... Except by then it was frozen solid and wouldn't even start to turn over. Turn the key = nothing. GREAT. So now instead of fishing I had a recovery job to do.

I went home, dropped my daughter off, picked up my small sled, generator, battery charger and electric space heater to heat the engine a bit. It was probably about 1.5 hours or so by the time I got back out. I figured I'd try the quad again for the hell of it. It fired up with only a slight hesitation. By then the air temp warmed up a few degrees and I guess that's all it took. I fired up the generator and refreshed the battery anyway since I had it all out there haha.

In the mean time I finally fished for a bit, from about 11:30 until 2:30... Nothing but small perch. I set up the underwater camera also and there were no walleye in sight, just many, many small perch.

It took me 2 hours from the time I started tear down until the time I got home because I had to make multiple trips back and forth from the ice (too much stuff and I was by myself). A lot of work but realistically I enjoyed every second!

Hope you guys are doing better than I am!
