came across quit a few posts from other boards on guys catching eyes in very shallow water through the ice.. real shallow talking between 3 to 10 feet.. anyone try this out or have any luck with it

I've tried it, ( usually when I didn't dare to venture out any further because of thin ice)
. I was never able to do well. I think one time I got into some vipers but its always been hard to keep the perch away. If I have perch below me I will try to pull my jig until they pass.

ive never heard of it before I'm right in the narrows here by skyway bridge don't wanna venture out any farther than 8 feet of depth.. The young lad and I are goin to give it a go this afternoon...

Would anybody be able to tell me if county shores area is safe for snowmobiles? would like to go out tomorrow.

County shores posted that they just opened up their parking lot but did not know the ice conditions as no one has been out since his parking lot was closed. It's a tricky area and the only way to know is to bring your spud and check it yourself, each step. Failing that you might consider an area like potters Creek in Belleville where they are paths and better conditions. You still should bring your spud as Quinte is always changing

Gave the shallows a go notta but a small perch. Did notice a couple guys down at county shore
