Was a super stressful time for me, contemplating leaving a machine on the ice and having to drive 3 hours home to get more machines, to return and then try a recovery. I was so thankful for the help.

I'm guessing fishingwithfrey is Todd

Recap on the trip.
As typical with early season ice, the fishing was hot. We hit well over 30 fish (lost track actually). We did keep our limit only due to the fact that we live quite far away. Most of the fish were in the 2-3lb range with a few larger fish mixed in 8lbs 6oz was the largest landed. Our rule of thumb is we don't keep anything over the 4-5lb range. One reason is these are the brood stock of the future, and the other reason is they just aren't as good eating. Problem with quinte is its often difficult to get those eating size fish. Good problem to have though as this is the reason we all travel to the famous bay searching for the elusive 10lb plus fish. PB for me is just over 13lbs caught back in 2013 so I'm still searching for bigger.

If it wasn't for the machine troubles this was a trip for the books numbers wise. A lot of fish landed and some lost on the way up as well. the fish didn't seem to be too picky on the actual lure, but I can say they were picky on the size of minnow added, once that part was figured out they just couldn't seem to leave the baits alone.

few pictures added, not all are great shots as I was trying to get a picture of as many fish as I could, being as cold as it was we weren't really in the mood to get out and pose for every fish.

Ya. A lot of those fish were perfect for the pan.

Sleds getting dropped off tonight. I’m taking it to the shop to save time and to ensure they check for any other potential issues. It’s maintained well so I think this was just a fluke occurrence.

Hopefully I’ll have it back quickly. I have a feeling this weekend is a write off but hope I’m good to go for the weekend of the 12th
