Quinte Fishing

Haven't been out in a week or so was wondering about ice thickness across the reach
Expecting it tightened up over the last couple days but you can't assume anything on the boq

It thickened quite a bit this week. Seen ATVs today on the reach. I had about 8-10 in of good black ice about half way across.

A little sketchy to the left. Drove from Brampton to Pro Tackle only to find that they open at 10 am on week days . Stopped at the Dew Drop In and got my minnows. Off to Huffs. I walked out a little to the left to 24 fow and found about 8 inches . lost a hog there then it went dead. Moved in to 30 fow and was 6 inches there. Fished for 2 hours ,nothing there . Moved to the left towards red buoy and ice broke under me . Backed up and found that there was 2 inches of white ice with a 2 inch gap of slushy water under that and 3 inches of black ice under that. Nearly crapped my pants. But the fishing was good there at the end of the day. Be safe and tight lines....Simon..
