I know most guys don't target pike on the bay. But how often do you guys hook into one while walleye fishing.

I got one about the same size as jigg4things caught when I was out Sunday, only it was me that was left bleeding lol, didn't have any billed nose pliers. I like eating pike but we already had a feed of wallies on the ice so it went back down the hole. If you want to target pike, fish at least a foot off bottom with a silver spoon and big strokes and big minows. My dad used to take us fishing them in Wellers bay when we were young.

I saw a pic of a boy holding a 30 pounder he pulled through the ice on face book, looked like an alligator.

I target pike quit a bit spring summer n fall, best ive done was between 8-10 lbs,. nothing to impressive yet.,. I know few guys whos got some pretty large ones in the spring years back but nothing in the last few years though.,, Ive had some pretty large baits bitten off while casting n trolling the narrows using 30 - 50lb braid., my own fault for not running a leader when they bit off I threw large baits on for the hell of it after being skunked goin for bass and walters
