My wife and I went for a drive yesterday. I was really surprised how much things were opening up. Looked more like the end of February or early March. Started in Tweed and when up through Stoco, Moira, Crowe, Cordova, Stoney Lake and everything in between. Everywhere we went the ice was opening up and the rivers were roaring. The snow outside the woods is pretty much all gone. Groomed trails are all ice or bare ground. The water through Burleigh Falls looked like a spring torrent. I could see old snowmobile tracks running the river ice now ending in open water. Still shacks out and trucks on the ice. Everyone should be extra careful going out on the ice.
