Went out this morning well after day break so I could see the ice. 12" where I checked but I noticed old holes were opened up and the ice was thinning pretty good all around the old holes. If you think the ice looks funny then steer clear as it probably is dangerous.
As for the fishing this was it for me for the hardwater. Landed 3 lakers, 4lb, 9lb and an 11lb. Lots of lookers. Such a fun fish to catch and fight. Be safe out there

Nice work Dan. I think that will be the ice fishing for this year. Ice is breaking up in the north channel now. A couple of people went for a ride on an ice berg off Amherst yesterday and needed a rescue. Trout are fun to catch but not that much fun.
