For Immediate Release

I am pleased to announce that Pro Tackle in Belleville is now offering for sale, the Uzick Spinner manufactured by Superdad and the Ripple Worm Kit that matches the Uzick Spinner.

These are the authentic lures as created by John Uzick of Pennsylvania and passed along to Superdad in the mid 1980’s.

Pro Tackle is located at 43 Putman Industrial Rd, Belleville, Ontario, Canada Tel. 613-968-4111 Toll Free. 1-888-442-7456.

Pro Tackle will be at the Quinte RV Show on March 9,10 & 11th at the Quinte Sports Complex and will also be at the Toronto Sportsmans Show at the International Centre on March 14 thru the 18th.

These lures have been proven as true walleye catchers for the Bay of Quinte.

Stop By and pick up several before hitting the Bay of Quinte and the world class walleye fishery.

Dave, do they come in different colors? If so, which color do you prefer?

Sorry to take so long getting a couple pix of the lures up on the board to show what the lure look like. They are a basic lure but VERY effective on the walleyes of Quinte and they catch em in lakes to the north as well..

Here are a couple.

They look pretty good. I'd say the biggest advantage is they are made with wire, and therefore they'll outlast spinners that are threaded on line.

I will pick a few however can you describe how it is best to be fished? Dragging the bottom like a Carolina rig or trolling it suspended? Open water or in weeds?

30 years ago or more my dad and I used to make these. We'd buy the parts from a local flea market. I probably still have some tucked away in an old tackle box somewhere in the basement. I'd say a 2 hook version (typical worm harness) with willow leaf blades would be more effective in the weeds though, as you can bury the points of the hooks into the plastic, and the tighter spin of the willow leaf blade would be better cutting through the weeds. I would probably add a small snap at the lure for a quicker change of lures and not shortening the length of the leader every time you want to retie. No doubt however that the Uzick Spinner will be very effective anywhere that walleye swim!!!
