I got this tip from this forum some time ago. If you want to keep track of ice cover/open water without leaving the house you can go to the modis-today website to view daily satellite imagery. The trick is to get a day where there is no cloud cover. To get the best high magnification image follow these steps
Go to http://ge.ssec.wisc.edu/modis-today
You can click on "Show all available images" for thumbnails that give an idea of how much cloud cover there is at different dates.
Pick a date.
Click on the top right of the big image. That will enlarge USA4.
Move around in USA4 and check that the area of interest (Prince Edward County/B of Q) is not under cloud cover.
For a higher magnification view, click the 250m box. This bring you to the top left of the image. Scroll down (southward) until you get to the south end of Georgian Bay, then scroll right (eastward) until you see the B of Q. The Canada/US border makes an obtuse angle in Lake Ontario south of Prince Edward county. This is a useful reference point since the image will show borders even when there is cloud cover.
The attached file has an image from Feb 27, 2018. It shows some open water along the south shore of adolphus reach but still a lot of ice.

Not chasing Walleye at this time of year. Some of the best lake trout and brown trout fishing can be had now.
