Need a new battery for my boat and can't decide whether to put a "Blue Top" in it. Are they worth the money? Any suggestions would be helpful.

I have gone through 4 blue tops D31's. Very expensive and not very reliable. I was a huge proponent of them up until i only got 2 years out of my last pair. I switched to Odyssey and never looked back. IMO i wouldn't spend the money on the blue tops. Have a look at PCM2150 by Odyssey (if its trolling motor batteries), they are in the same price range .. roughly and never seem to quit ! I do have 1 yellow top as my crank battery and it is 7 years old, just not much luck with Blue's on trolling motor.

I have two optima blue top deep cycles. Best battery you can find. I would not use anything else. Mine are a few years so they are AGM. I didn’t know they switched to gel. They were perfect before. I think if u can find any similar AGM battery like those you will be happy. They are expensive but worth it.

Talk with Hal at Belleville Starter and Alternator. The man flat out knows everything battery, he's a fisherman and site advertiser. https://bellevillestarter.ca

Does he sell them Dan? They gave me great service on my golf cart starter-alternator. Rebuilt in 2 hours.
